Due to some unforseen circumstances on Facebook, i will now be running the competition on my blog.
Once we reach 500 fans I will be running a prize draw giveaway, where one lucky person will receive an item from me worth £50! (either a handmade pure silver piece or a fingerprint jewellery bracelet).
Apologys to to the people who became fans on FB, but it was found that running a giveaway in that way on their site was against the rules.
Anyway, good luck - should run smoothly this time ;)

I make pure silver jewellery using Art Clay Silver and swarovski crystals, pearls and gemstones. Each piece is lovingly created by hand, making each one unique. www.kellykuseldesigns.com

First Fingerprint Item
I completed my first fingerprint jewellery request this week. The customer was from wales and so I had to send out some putty for her to be able to cast her childs fingerprint.
I was wondering how it would turn out due to the way the fingerprint was being made, but I was really pleased with the results and as the picture shows none of the detail was lost.

I think it looks really lovely and i look forward to hopefully hearing what the customer thinks to.

Shout Outs
While working on updating my website, i decided that i needed a professional looking logo. I was recommended Aimee Bee Designs (http://www.http//www.aimeebeedesigns.etsy.com). She was extreme quick in knowing what i needed and the look i was going for, just by asking a couple of questions. Aimee had my finished logo waiting on my computer less than 48hrs after my request. I would definately recommend her and she is very reasonably priced to. Aimee helps you to create your business cards and leaflets to. Check out my finished logo below :) :-
Fantastic isn't it! I absolutely love it, sounds silly but when I see it I can't stop smiling. :)
If interested contact her via Facebook to under Aimee Bee Designs.

I'm Back!
Well after a well earned rest i am back and raring to go. I ordered my tumbler last night, previously i was sanding each item by hand, but that turned out to be far to costly time wise, plus after a few hrs i starts to hurt!
I am now starting to focus on fingerprint jewellery and hand, footprint and paw print jewellery.
I think nothing shows love more, than keeping a memento of someone special close to you.
I'll also be making some changes to the website to accompany this.
So it's all systems go, just where to start??

Update
It's been a busy week here. Firstly trying to book up some craft events for later in the year
and secondly, getting ready introduce our new range of fingerprint jewellery. Each piece will
be handmade by me. People will be able to purchase online, visit me at a show, book a jewellery party or I can visit their home. All have free delivery.
I am also looking into also providing hand and footprint pendants and also a version for pet lovers.
Also, have you got a picture that you treasure? What if you could have this on a piece of jewellery so that you can wear it close to you always.
All of this coming up in the near future.

Busy, Busy, Busy :)
Hi, just thought I'd better send a quick post this week before I forget. I was advised the other day that I should be doing this regularly to keep things up-to-date and relevant, but from looking at other posts it seems i'm not quite there yet :0 . I'm really busy at the moment, the Southend Fair is just under 2mths away and I feel like i've achieved...well not alot really. Really need to get my skates on, have so many things running around in my head like material for the table, how to set the jewellery up, leaflets etc. It's my first major show (25,000 people turned up last yr!) so would be interested in anyone else's experience of this and did it go according to plan? Was it worth it? On the plus side I do have alot of ideas for my jewellery which I have been furiously sketching down so I don't forget, so at least I know my creative juices haven't stopped yet. I have so many ideas, but of course its money and alas I haven't made one sale yet - I don't get it.
My Time Will Come! (fingers crossed eh?!)

New Items - Finally!
I'm at last getting into a routine and managing to make alot more jewellery than normal, which is a good sign - especially when I've got a few shows coming up. I was getting worried I would have to cancel but think I will get there.
Also, it's been a good week as had a call from people who publish Marie Claire magazine asking if I would like to feature one of my pieces in their July Issue. They are puting together an article called 'The Hot Top 20' which is featuring 20 jewellery items promoting smaller outlets / designers - how could I say no! :) So excited.
On the down side my ickle 2yr old has now caught chicken pox :( , poor thing . She only started pre-school last wk, so should have expected it really xx

Free for an Hour
Ahh, I feel all alone at the moment. Amelie went off this morning on her very first school trip to a Butterfly Farm. She was soooo excited that she was up at 6am (thats not unusual to be honest), Got herself dressed! and then for the next 2hrs continually asked 'Are we going yet?'. Now I have just dropped of Isla, my ickle 2yr old, for a trial at her pre-school (sob) It's only for an hour, but it feels really strange not having anyone to tell 'leave that alone' 'Don't touch that' etc. Ahh bet she's loving it. Think I need to relax and enjoy my cuppa. The dog even seems relaxed. It's toooooo quiet

When, Why, How??????
OK, I think I've had my website running for nearly a year.
I've been putting all the hard effort in, making jewellery, taking pictures (then erasing them as I thought they were tripe), costing jewellery plus trying to get some networking on the computer, blah, blah. Now, I'm the first one to admit I'm impatient, but when does all the hard work start paying off???? I'm getting frustrated at checking my computer every day, to just glance if that special someone has placed an order, or at least enquired about something? But no, nothing - diddly squat.
I must admit i'm not very good at letting people know what I'm doing. Not many of my friends know. I guess I just feel a bit silly telling them, well it's not a 'proper' job is it. Then from the people who do know, I get the all important question 'Have you sold anything yet?' . So thats another thing, how can I tell people I make jewellery, yet have to admit that I haven't actually sold anything?
I'm waffling again. It's just that I've been doing all the things that I've been advised to, but nothing is happening. How long has anybody else had to wait before a sale?

Penny Dog Jewellery by Kerry Wilkinson
While I'm still trying to take my photos (finally managed to get a decent camera - yeah!) I came across this website , purely by accident really, but absolutely love the jewellery. I''d never heard of resin before and now i've seen what can be done I really want to have a go.
Kerry creates jewellery by sourcing objects/materials and after placing them in a mould, pours resin over them. After this has dried, she drills, fills, polishes and varnishes the it to create a simple yet fantastic piece of jewellery. Kerry uses all different items, from recycled fabric to a Dib Dab sweet packet!
To be honest theres too many to choose from, but I think one of my favourites would have to be the round vintage yellow flower pendant from her new collection as well as her gorgeous collection of bangles.
Kerry also makes bracelets from beautiful fabrics and is designed to fit snugly around the wrist.
You can also purchase resin jewellery supplies, books & buttons and for every piece of jewellery sold £1 is donated to the Retired Greyhound Trust. So you get a wonderful unique piece of jewellery and get to help a good cause.

New Items
God, I hate taking pictures. Not matter what I do they never come out as I wanted. Anyway I have been busy over the past few weeks making some new pieces of jewellery that I hope to put on the website over the weekend. I'm still fairly new to Silver Clay, so please feel free to let me know what you think.
FLOWER PENDANT
This is exactly what it says really. It's strung onto a sterling silver trace chain - i think 18". There will be matching earrings and a ring to follow soon.

SHINING STAR PENDANT
This pendant is strung onto a sterling silver cable chain, about 16". I think that the picture may have come out a bit too shiny.
Now, I really like the way this pendant turned out, but I can't think of a name for it. The pattern I used reminds me of leaves, but still not sure. Will have to have a think about this one. Also strung onto a sterling silver cable chain.
Oval Link Earrings
I'm really disappointed by this photo as you can see a reflection in them (but on the good side it shows you how hard i worked to get them that shiny! lol). I really like these earrings and the way they turned out - felt quite smug when they were finished.
Will start making some more next week and try to keep the Blog updated. I do have to keep reminding myself to do these things, I get carried away with making the jewellery and forget about everything else.
Anyway off to the land of nod soon. Would love to know what people think out there,

Gorgeous Silver Jewellery by Corazon Latino
Corazon Latino (which means Latino Heart) was created by Cath D'Arcy back in 2004, while studying Spanish in Mexico. After meeting some local silversmiths and loving the jewellery they made she decided to create her own range. After 18 months of hard work the website was born, offering a range of striking of unusual handmade silver jewellery made by wonderful craftsmen and women.
The silverbracelets are exceptionally beautiful and you can really see the attention to detail in all of these pieces.
Also check out their New Designs For 2010 . Again, with great attention to detail and all in glorious silver. I think the my favourite would have to be the Venus Twisted Heart Silver Necklace. I lover the way the design flows - beautiful!
The range costs between £25 to £250 and offers free uk delivery within 2 working days.
